Some digital PH meters are built to use batteries. If you’re measuring blood or some other non-blood related fluid, this would be a great option. Unfortunately, these units do not last as long as traditional promoters. Also, if the batteries will run out before the end of the measuring period, then there won’t be any data for you to see. It’s important to note that even if the battery does not run out completely, a battery-powered device can significantly reduce the span you can measure with a traditional pH meter.

Don’t buy an inexpensive pH measurement device without the right electrodes. Make sure that the two types of probes included with your instrument meet all the necessary standards. The most common type of electrodes used with these devices are conductors coated with a gel to make them more sensitive to changes in the concentration of acidity or alkalinity. You don’t want to be fooled by cheap, disposable probes, as they will not provide you with accurate results.
