Laboratory professionals use a digital pH meter to test the acid-alkali balances in various biological samples. This type of test is useful in determining the equilibrium of various elements and substances in various types of liquids or semi-solid materials. A digital pH meter functions by releasing a small voltage through a thin glass electrode, which creates a distinct reading corresponding to the number of hydrogen atoms present within the tested sample. A cheap digital pH tester results are displayed in meters that use light signals as its form of measurement, while traditional pH testing used electrodes to provide results.
One such cheap digital pH tester is the Apollo Bio Kit from Apollo. It is equipped with a pair of probes and a microchip buffer solution. The probe is coated on both sides with a neutralizing solution, while the inside of the chip is a miniature camera housing. When activated, the probe automatically moves its head to locate a sample and read out the results. The built-in LED display shows the results in real-time.
Another cheap digital pH tester is the Aromatica Skinprayrap from Nordicware. Like other Nordicware products, the Aroma Skinprayrap has a measuring cup that comes with it. With this measuring cup and attached to the gadget, the user places the measuring probe in a sample using the included push-button method. Once the probe has been positioned in the sample, a computer icon displays the measurement results in a data log that can be viewed on the screen.
Two other brand options for pH meters are the Dicientix Basic Dialer and the Thermo Tube Pro. The Dicientix Basic Dialer has an LCD screen that shows the reading of your measurement in real-time. On the other hand, the Thermo Tube Pro has a timer that allows you to measure the time it took for the sample to reach the accurate level. These two types are both calibrated and offer manual calibration as well. You can also store up to three measurements in one digital pH meter.
Some digital PH meters are built to use batteries. If you’re measuring blood or some other non-blood related fluid, this would be a great option. Unfortunately, these units do not last as long as traditional promoters. Also, if the batteries will run out before the end of the measuring period, then there won’t be any data for you to see. It’s important to note that even if the battery does not run out completely, a battery-powered device can significantly reduce the span you can measure with a traditional pH meter.
Don’t buy an inexpensive pH measurement device without the right electrodes. Make sure that the two types of probes included with your instrument meet all the necessary standards. The most common type of electrodes used with these devices are conductors coated with a gel to make them more sensitive to changes in the concentration of acidity or alkalinity. You don’t want to be fooled by cheap, disposable probes, as they will not provide you with accurate results.
