3 for 1 in Log booksAs a response to the overwhelming communication from members regarding the 3 for 1 system, we have organised to run workshops to help with the paperwork. All members will receive a sample lesson planner develop in accordance with the RTA requirements. This will then be followed up with two workshops that will help with the development and writing of your own lesson plans and the record keeper. We had previously stated that members would also receive a copy of the newly developed DARE lesson plans, however this has no been amended by the training organisation that all past graduates will receive these plans. Whilst a great number of our members came through DARE as part of their training, there is a still many that did not. So to best serve all members we are running the aforementioned workshops.The workshops will run for 4 hours, with one on each day so that you can have the best chance of attending one. Keys2driveFree sessions are now available in NSW.As from 16/2/2010, free keys2drive sessions are available to any holder of a current learners licence. The public launch for this program in this State is being planned for sometime late March, as it needs to fit in with the Federal Ministers schedule. There has been a steady increase in the amount of sessions being delivered in Victoria since they became available in November last year, with a peak of 89 delivered in 1 week. Training has been conducted for over 300 instructors in NSW with close to 80 accredited so far. If you are one of those who has undergone training and is yet to complete your online tasks, we would suggest you do so ASAP if you want to start delivering lessons soon. And if you are one of those who has been sitting back and waiting, you might as well jump in now as many instructors in Victoria realised after the launch that they should get involved and are only now undergoing training. Working with Children CertificatesWe have received information relating to the compliance date for obtaining a "working with children certificate for self employed people". Originally stated as March 2010, then shifted to May 2010, it has now moved to May 2011. For those people who already have one, don't panic, it just means you are ahead of the rest. For those yet to get one we would suggest not leaving it till the last minute as it could be easily forgotten.
